From 25th June to 1st July 2011, the Isle of Wight will play host to the NatWest Island Games, an international sporting event which will involve thousands of talented athletes from 25 islands around the world, challenging themselves and each other in the quest for victory in 14 sports. The NatWest Island Games are held every two years on different host Islands and for many of the competitors, the Games will pave the way towards participation in the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics.

There will be hundreds of events taking place across all sports during the week. A wonderful opportunity to experience first hand some of the world's top athletes in action.

Archery - Athletics Basketball - Badminton - Cycling - Football - Golf - Sailing & Windsurfing - Shooting (clay pigeon & target) - Squash - Swimming - Table Tennis - Tennis - Volleyball.

It all starts when Lord Coe (Sebastian Coe) will officially open the NatWest Island Games, followed by the carnival extravaganza of the Opening Ceremony Parade. Saturday 25th June at Ryde Town Centre and Esplanade from 5pm and finishing of with the Closing Ceremony on Friday 1st July at Cowes Town Centre and Esplanade from 7pm.
